My Project
Last school year we had the opportunity to hatch baby chicks in our classroom. I would love for my class this year and years to come get that same awesome experience. We use this experience to learn about the life cycle of the chicken.
Baby chicks in the classroom is a fun learning experience for all ages!
The students will be 100% part of the process and learning experience of hatching the baby chicks. We will go step by step together to set up the incubator, add the eggs, and make sure the temperature and humidity are correct each day. We will learn various vocabulary words such as: embryo, candling, life cycle... We will follow each stage of development up until the big day that our babies hatch. After the chicks hatch the students will participate in helping care for and finding homes for the baby chicks. This project is so much fun, hands on, and interactive. It also teaches the students how to care for the baby chicks and how important it is to find them a good home.
