This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students range from Pre-K to fifth grade. We are a low income elementary school. Our kids are active and love learning.

They have lost a lot because of Hurricane Harvey and I am trying to make this year special.

I want them to be excited to come to school. Art can be a great way to motivate kids to do better and learn new things. It can also be used to help heal what they have lost. With new art supplies, I can help them in all areas, like math and reading. They are so appreciative of everything they receive and would really love your support.

My Project

I am hoping to use the basic supplies to encourage my students creativities. The markers and sharpies are just to replenish the small supply we started the year with. The yarn, looms, dot markers, fish flags, and other craft supplies are to help give my students a unique and special year in art. I want to make this year extra special and give them lots of fun projects to keep there mind off of everything else that has happened this year.

A lot of our students lost everything and school is the only time things are "normal".

Please help me give them a unique and wonderful art experience.
