My Project

Every day a student will offer me a flower fallen from our school’s plumeria tree. They enjoy our island's natural resources and are also aware that it is needs care and protection. My students’ eagerness to connect with their culture and explore new technologies inspires me to enrich their educational experiences.

The PC laptop that I am requesting is crucial for programming our classroom's smart farm—a soilless, vertical growing system.

This laptop will serve as the brain of our operation, allowing students to directly apply computer science skills by coding conditions that control plant growth. Through this hands-on experience, they will learn to analyze data, enhancing their scientific and problem-solving skills while observing the tangible results of their work.

Additionally, the smart farm introduces students to sustainable agricultural technologies, tying in traditional Hawaiian practices of land stewardship. This project not only connects them to our cultural heritage but also teaches them about modern sustainable practices crucial for our planet's future. By integrating these innovative tools into our curriculum, we are preparing our students to think critically and creatively about real-world problems, making their learning process both meaningful and exciting. This approach ensures that education is not just about imparting knowledge but inspiring a new generation to combine tradition with innovation for a sustainable future.
