I need to attend a four-week, asynchronous course through the Harvard Graduate School of Education that focuses on updated techniques for teaching and learning online.
I teach enthusiastic students who are excited to make their marks in the world. Like so many communities across the United States, we have endured economic upheaval and redefinition over the last few decades. Nonetheless, my students are resilient and eager to learn everything they can about writing, literature, rhetoric, and life. They are also eager to do good in our community and in our world. By giving students constant opportunities to do amazing things, we empower them to change anything and everything.
My Project
Hello. 2020-21 has been a year of changes and challenges. I can't explain why, but teaching in a hybrid setting is making me more tired than I've ever been before. I need some help.
I would like to attend a four-week, online course through the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
The course will focus on updated strategies and techniques for learning and teaching online.
The course is completely asynchronous which basically means that I can access information and modules at any point during the four week period. I'm hoping that I will take away both immediate strategies and long term thinking.
HGSE brings together teachers from all over the world. Even though the classes are asynchronous, they are also clustered so that I will be able to interact with a smaller group of teachers. We'll communicate via question forums.
I am looking forward to learning new ideas for my classroom. I am also the department chair, so I will pass on anything that I learn to the rest of my department members. Thank you.
