My students consist of 25 seventh and eighth graders, mixed together for an elective class. We just finished up the first elective cycle and they consistently impressed me with their creativity and passion.
My students have an appetite for learning and imagination that took my breath away.
They took a classic story and were able to find new questions and angles even though many knew the story prior to the class. They challenged themselves to find new elements to explore.
My students and I just finished reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone for our 7/8th grade elective, Harry Potter Book Club!
The students were so engaged by the text and discussion they are eager to move on to the next chapter of the story, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
Through out this section of the class, the students will read the book and follow up what they've read with in class discussion, independent journal time, and assignments and activities based on the story.
They will dive into themes of fantasy, character studies, and much more. They can't wait to get started!
