My Students
Our school is an academically successful, rural, high school that is filled to the brim with about 900 wonderful students. We serve our military community as well, pulling in students whose parents work.
In the state's ranking system, our high-performing high school has been ranked as a top ten public high school in NC for eleven consecutive years.
Through our state's report card system, we have been given an "A" designation, the only school in our district or county to have such a mark. We have earned this distinction for the FIFTH year in a row. And we are very proud of it!
On September 13, 2018, our community was hit by Hurricane Florence. Almost exactly one year later, our county and community were hit by another hurricane - Hurricane Dorian. However, these hurricanes might have re-shaped us, but definitely won't define us. When COVID-19 shut down the school and sports season in March 2020, we were devastated to end our inaugural season so quickly. We made a strong comeback in our 2021 season and can't wait for our 2022 season to begin.
My Project
Girls lacrosse at CHS is a relatively new sport. Our inaugural season was cut short due to the Covid-19 lockdowns in March 2020. We had an extremely successful first full season when we were allowed to play again during the spring 2021 season. We are looking to build upon our success as a growing program by increasing our stick skills to be able to compete with the best of the best in the state.
Help up improve our stick skills by supporting our effort to purchase a hardwall rebounder from Laxworx.
This rebounder is unlike any other soft wall rebounder on the market today. The new PATENT PENDING technology of the LAXWORX HARD WALL deforms the ball upon collision with the wall, rather than deforming the wall. The kinetic energy of a thrown ball will be transformed and stored in the ball itself rather than in the wall upon collision. This is a drastically different approach from the soft wall rebounders that inefficiently store the energy in the springs and fabric of the wall itself. Due to the relatively small deformation of the ball, these transformations of energy are achieved in a fraction of the time and with such great efficiency, which is what leads to the dramatic performance improvement over conventional soft walls. This wall plays extremely quickly, extremely fast, and extremely long if desired.
