My Project

The school I work at is a diverse community, culturally, economically and linguistically. There is over 55% minority from all over the world speaking over 36 languages. We are a Title I school with high numbers or percentages of children from low-income families. I work specifically with students with a variety of academic, emotional, and behavioral needs.

My students are hardworking, inquisitive, creative and motivated.

They are eager to learn and very motivated with goals that we set to better their academic and social skills. Each day I strive to create lessons that are effective, fun, and interesting for my very diverse students. The kids are passionate and very much willing to learn, given all the support and needs.

All teachers agree that the goal is for students to feel intrinsically motivated to behave and perform on their own. But, I believe a little boost of reward will make their effort even more meaningful. My students try their hardest and shows improvement despite distractions and difficulty with certain lessons. I am trying to show my class that I recognize the ways in which behavior flows throughout the year and that I greatly appreciate their extra hard work by providing positive reinforcement through earned group theme party.
