This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school service a high number of socially and economically disadvantaged students in the Los Angeles area. Many of my 1st grade students are English Language Learners with limited academic vocabulary. They are eager for an education; however, the lack of resources prevent them from getting motivated and truly show case their talents.

Many of my students have a variety of hardships at home, but at school, I try to make it a positive place where they can grow, learn, and be successful.

They come to school with big dreams, and I want to provide the best learning environment for them.

My Project

The card stock paper and paper trimmer will be used to generate custom, subject-based certificates of achievement in different shapes, sizes and colors for deserving students this academic school year.

Students will be recognized for their dedication, hard-work, and successes in multiple academic areas.

For example, students that have mastered all First-Grade high frequency words will receive a special award. Students that meet benchmark scores in math test, comprehension test, writing assignments, and science projects will also be receiving a special recognition at the end of the school year. This will motivate my students and help them understand that hard work and dedication truly pays off!
