This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Last year, my students were highly motivated to meet their individual goals set for them for all subject areas. Having the option to visit the sticker treasure box helped students want to reach their goals.

Interesting, fun, themed stickers help provide students with motivation to work and meet goals specifically in reading and math.

My students love working hard, and they love seeing progression in their learning. Having stickers to work for gives students the opportunity to earn a reward. Last year, as students were working for the stickers, they later became intrinsically motivated to keep working toward their goals without the need to obtain a sticker. Stickers are a great beginning/middle of the year form of motivation that lights a drive within the students. As they progress and see their levels improving, they realized that working hard was much more of a reward.

I am also requesting water bottles and a label maker. Students like to display their hard work of receiving a sticker on their water bottles to display to their friends and families. I want students to use the water bottles as a place to demonstrate their hard work and then use the label maker to be able to label each students' name on the water bottle.
