This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our students very much enjoy grabbing books from our classroom English and Spanish libraries and sitting there for a while to read. The problem is, we do not have chairs, pillows, or even a carpet (in that area) for them to sit on, so if they do not want to go back to their own table to read, they just hang out by the library on the floor.
Because of this, I would like to give my kiddos at least a decent rug for them to sit on so that their reading experience can be a little more enjoyable!
The reason I requested 2 small carpets is because our classroom Spanish and English libraries are color-coded; one is blue and the other is green. We use separate colors for each language so to help our English language learners and our more visual learners make the distinction between languages more easily.
