Our second-grade class includes multicultural and multilingual students who will benefit from earning rewards in the classroom. We are a Title I school with a high population of students receiving free and reduced-price lunches. Almost half of the population are English Language learners and 18% are Special Education. Our classroom is very diverse!
For many of my students, this is their first full year physically learning in the classroom.
For the last two years during the pandemic, it was difficult to reward students virtually in distance learning. Now we are able to learn in person, students are happy and excited to do well!
Positive appropriate behavior from the students like following class rules and being kind to others will be promoted through the reward system. Students will be motivated to give full effort to tasks and to complete their homework. Successful students will be happy students as they will be rewarded through the prizes purchased from this project. Students will show interest and increased participation in everyday classroom duties and responsibilities.
