This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have an amazing group of students who also happen to be learning English. While academics are important I also want to make sure that I have the right tools to touch on their social emotional skills.
It is so important that every student learn that experiencing different emotions are okay.
Going through different emotions are totally normal and what I would like to do is make sure I help them navigate them in the best way possible. One thing that I know for sure is that when emotions are high, learning ends up coming in second. I would like to make sure that I balance the scale to allow my students to achieve at their highest potential. I am asking for feelings journals so that students can practice expressing their emotions on a daily basis, emotion legos and an emotion wood matching game to get hands on with their feelings as well.
