This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have been teaching kindergarten at my school for 24 years. Every day, I am greeted by 25 wonderful, smiling faces. I feel lucky to have a job that I love. Our community has been through a lot these past two years with the fires that swept through Sonoma County and now distance learning. School is the one place where students can come on a daily basis and know that they are safe! My school population is very diverse and challenging, but I wouldn't have it any other way! We are a Title I funded school, with 94% of our student population qualifying for free and reduced-price lunches. Many of my students do not even come with a backpack or supplies. I usually spend a significant amount of my own money buying supplies for the entire year.

Happy Numbers provides individualized instruction for each student and engages children at various levels.

My students love Happy Numbers. It meets each student's needs and while challenging others. We used it daily and it has been cut out of our budget this year. It meets the needs of every student. Please help me purchase the licenses needed to get this back in my classroom!
