My students are absolutely amazing. They come to school every day excited to learn and grow. Our school and team are a very special place; everyone is there for the same reason which is for the children.
My students come from all walks of life, but most of my students come from low-income households.
No matter what is going on in their lives, they all come to school with a smile on their faces and ready to learn. I want to give my students many opportunities they may not get at home.
My Project
Every school year my heart aches as I see so many students come to school late without eating breakfast or are worried when they go home that they won't eat dinner that night! My students come from a low-income neighborhood and they face many problems that they shouldn't! This project will help that issue! With a variety of different snacks, I will be able to ensure that my students have full bellies throughout the school day and when they leave for the day. They will be able to focus better throughout the day instead of trying to ignore their grumbling stomach! Happy bellies equal more learning opportunities! I will also be able to use these items as rewards throughout the school day, for example; when students meet their online learning goals they could receive a snack of their choice, when a student wins their favorite spelling game called SPARKLE, or when they have an overall great day of behavior and academics! This variety of snack foods should last our classroom until the second semester! Help me make happy students not hungry students!
