This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Gung Hay Fat Choy, CHÚC MỪNG NĂM MỚI, saehae bog manh-i bad-euseyo! These all say Happy New Year in Chinese, Vietnamese, and Korean!

We celebrate the Lunar New Year every year and this year it falls on January 31.

I have Vietnamese and Chinese students in my class and we always incorporate all traditions into our lessons. We also have a parent night where we have craft activities as well as a lion dancer. We will make a dragon with the pom poms, crepe paper, and colored paper plates. I will give out lucky red envelopes filled with chocolate coins and scratchers. We will read books as well as play bingo to celebrate the new year!
