My Project

Help me give my students a play kitchen and supplies in my classroom. It would be extremely beneficial to my kindergarten students helping them learn life skills early through play. The play kitchen would give my students the opportunity to interact and play with each other, which will help enhance their social and language skills. It will also nurture creativity and imagination by pretending to be a chef, a baker, a server in a restaurant, or just a mom or dad cooking a meal. Fine motor and hand-eye coordination skills can also develop through kitchen play by allowing the students an opportunity to turn knobs, grasp spoons for mixing, and pretending to chop or squeeze various foods. Play kitchens can also improve a child’s numeracy skills. Children can count how many plates they need, weigh ingredients, and count how many minutes the food needs to be in the oven, which enhances their mathematical learning while they play.

Children learn best through play and this kitchen playset will allow them to be creative while learning life skills.

Children love to role-play, and with this kitchen playset my students will not only be able to strengthen their creativity, language, and fine motor skills but they will also be given the opportunity to prepare their own culinary masterpieces as they smile, laugh, and have fun.
