My Students

My scholars are an active group of 3rd graders who are always seeking to learn more. Each of them thrives on learning and all of them love discovering more through hands-on manipulatives. They crave stimulating challenges and student-centered activities to help them grow as learners.

We are over 50% free or reduced price lunch, but together our community, parents, and staff work to get everything we need.

I strive to give them the supportive environment that they deserve while they are in school so they can have the best chance at growing as scholars.

My Project

Every day at about 10:20, my scholars come back from specials. They have been working hard all morning, but their tummies are starting to rumble. A few grab a milk from the cooler, and some grab a snack from their backpacks, but many do not. This project would provide snacks for the scholars who cannot bring snacks from home.

Having a full tummy will increase focus and energy so my scholars can work to their full potential!

No one can concentrate when their stomach is growling. While some of my scholars can bring snacks every day, many cannot. They don't have healthy options available at home. These healthy cracker snacks will give my scholars the energy they need to complete their work each and every school day. Additionally, we need hand sanitizer to keep our bodies healthy.

Headphones are an important part of using technology in the classroom. My scholars need to use them while on their iPads so they don't disturb each other. Every year, we ask scholars to bring their own headphones, but they usually don't last the whole year. Some scholars can't afford to bring any at all. I have some headphones in my classroom, but that means scholars have to share them. Unfortunately, head lice has become very common in the public school setting, and sharing headphones is not a good way to avoid getting head lice. Having enough headphones for each scholar will help reduce the spread of lice.
