Help me give my students handy study guides or flip charts that they can use to enhance their mastery and understanding of Algebra and Geometry. We also need more calculators in the classroom for speed and accuracy.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Diligent, motivated, and persistent, ...these are just some of the words I could think of to describe the 9th and 10th graders I am teaching this school year. Their eagerness to learn using multiple modalities challenges me to create meaningful Algebra and Geometry lessons that they may find relevant in their future careers.
The heart of Geometry is proving and I want my students to fall in love with it!" They need to comprehend how definitions, postulates, and theorems in Geometry are related and can be used in writing a logical, comprehensive proof.
My Project
The study guides, flip charts, and pamphlets can help my students review for tests, check their understanding, and memorize necessary formulas. These materials will also be helpful as references when they rotate among learning stations in the classroom.
Instructional materials, when strategically used, help teachers differentiate classroom learning experiences.
Providing ALL students equal access to the academic content is challenging but giving them several entry points within their comfort zone may help reduce their anxiety in learning math.
Meanwhile, we also need calculators to help students who have specific learning disabilities and need computational devices as part of their learning accommodations.
