Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I work in a Title I school in Prince Georges County, MD where half of the students receive free or reduced lunch. We are a 6th-grade classroom with a diverse group of students highly motivated about learning math. My students are creative, thoughtful, and full of questions!
My students love hands-on activities, engaging projects, and challenges that allow them to think outside the box.
To effectively teach students at a wide range of levels, I need many resources. Help me bring in the necessary materials to help students succeed in school. Students and parents do not have the financial means to provide essentials and we need to help students achieve greatness.
Like most students of this day and age, my kids are digital learners. They rely on multiple learning platforms by way of digital devices to acquire knowledge, explore content, learn new vocabulary, and practice skills. These digital tasks work best when they can focus without the distraction of outside noise.
With individual headphones, students will be able to fully engross themselves in audio/visual learning.
Additionally, my English Language Learners will be able to take full advantage of the listening tools embedded in their online textbooks.
