My Project

Students receive occupational therapy in school to help access their education. Well chosen fine-motor tools are incorporated into their therapy sessions so students can increase their hand skills while simultaneously engaging in learning activities. Occupational Therapists provide sensory rich activities to increase motivation and fun, thereby increasing opportunity for learning.

I would like to provide my students with alphabet games and finger-strengthening tools so they can practice their literacy skills while also strengthening their intrinsic hand muscles.

With these tools, they can practice writing skills, while strengthening their pencil grip and hand strength. The Dotted Lines LCD Writing Tablet would support students to write within the lines (a skill many struggle with). The See and Spell word building game would facilitate lowercase letter familiarity. The helping hands fine motor tool set and eye droppers would support enjoyable learning activities that increase fine motor development aspects. This combination of educational tools would create a synergistic effect that allows an environment where literacy, fine-motor skills, and learning can flourish.
