My Students

My students are all in an intensive needs classroom in a New Hampshire city public school. Each one of my students has an Individualized Education Plan and need a lot of support throughout the day in order to be successful. They have a range of disabilities, including autism, developmental delay, emotional disturbance and speech and language disorders.

Throughout the day my students have a paraprofessional working with them to ensure they are able to access the curriculum and general education classroom.

All of my students are included in the general education classroom for all or part of their day depending on their needs and lessons presented on a daily basis. Each of my students has their own strengths, challenges, and needs, but every one of them is a wonderful part of a great school community.

My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and are excited about​ what new learning is in store for them that day!

My Project

The students in my classroom struggle with their fine motor and handwriting skills. Handwriting Without Tears is a curriculum that is designed to make legible and fluent handwriting an automatic, mastered skill. Leveled kits and curriculum make it easy to guide students through early multi-sensory handwriting instruction.

Multi-sensory instruction is so important when learning to read and write.

These workbooks will help my students learn how to formulate letters which then will carry on to helping them form words. Lastly, the yellow highlighted paper is a great tool and resource to help my students learn to keep their words from 'floating' or 'sinking' away.
