My Students
I have the enjoyment of teaching Biology I to 9th grade students in a Title I school. Many of them come from low income families and are not afforded the same opportunities as students from surrounding districts. Despite the lack of materials and opportunities, they show up ready to learn daily. Their drive for learning is what makes me come to work everyday. I want the best for them and I am striving each day to provide that for them.
My students deserve to have a safe, engaging learning environment with the necessary materials to succeed.
I enjoy teaching my students about Biology and helping them make connections to real world experiences. As their teacher, I am making sure they have a firm foundation which will help them as they progress through their other science courses.
My Project
My students need a computer in class. In our district, most of the work is consists of online/ virtual assignments. However, technology is not 100 percent dependable. A laser printer in the classroom will give me the opportunity to provide my students with materials without wasting time running to the community printer.
Even though we love using computers, some students are hands on learners.
They need assignments they can touch, feel, and write. A printer in the class will allow me to provide all of my learners with their preferred learning styles.
