My Students

Working in West Jordan, Utah. My class is comprised of twenty-two special needs students ranging in age from kindergarten to third grade. My hardworking, sweet, and creative students are full of intense energy and love to learn. They are highly motivated by hands-on activities with diverse materials being used. When I come to pick them up at their classrooms they are so excited and eager to learn. This warms my heart. Each of my students is unique -they are beautiful examples to myself and their peers. Their love of learning is beautiful and inspiring.

With our school being a charter we have many different ethnicities and socio-economic backgrounds.

Some of the students I service struggle with at-home practice and completion due to limited supplies and support at home.

Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners in my class.

My Project

Assorted sensory tools will be pivotal in assisting my students in their educational careers.

A wide variety of educational manipulatives will present new and creative ways for my students to process difficult and challenging concepts.

Some of the things you'll be helping my students with are learning language skills, including but not limited to pre-writing skills, handwriting, sight word, and sentence work; mathematical needs like the foundational concepts of counting, number recognition, math facts, and money; and meet sensory needs to help keep students ready, engaged, and concentrated in learning. This project will help them gain the much-needed skills to be successful both in and outside of school. This project will be super helpful with finishing strong this school year, and for many years to come!
