Help me give my students hands-on activities and increase their understanding using geoboards.

My students are part of magnet program for single-gender classes. The parents and students have made the choice to be a part of this program and have met certain guidelines to become accepted into the program. I have two classes of advanced mathematics where students will complete a semester of eighth grade standards and a semester of algebra standards. I also have two classes where students will complete their first high school level course of Algebra I.
Our Mission at DMS is to provide each student a comprehensive, quality education in a supportive environment by offering relevant, challenging learning experiences that prepare students to become responsible individuals and citizens.
DMS is located at one end of the International Corridor of Decker Boulevard in the northeast area of Columbia, SC. Our population consists of over 1300 students of diverse backgrounds, 130 faculty members and about 20 support staff. We are home to three magnet programs (TLC, TWO Academies, and FAME). We are the largest middle school in our district, as well as the oldest school in the district (since 1926).
Students will use the pegboards to graph linear equations. This will provide students with a more concrete way to develop an understanding of functions and linear equations. For students that struggle with abstract ideas of algebra, this will provide an opportunity to interact with the ideas in a physical way.
The interactive notebooks and the foldable books will provide students with examples and study tools that they can access at any time.
Students will take Cornell notes in the notebook and glue the foldable books inside their notebook. Students will have a section to write down any questions that they have when trying to complete assignments so that they can remember what they need to ask the next class period. It helps students to master organization skills that help students succeed in all areas.
In class, we use the model, "I do, We do, You do." With the dry erase markers I have students do their work on their desktop. This allows me to monitor each student more closely and gives students more space to work out their problem.
