I am a lucky teacher of second grade students. My students aim to please and are always interested in learning something new. They think best when given hands-on materials. Their curious nature makes so very special!
I find that it is very important to keep my students engaged and excited about learning.
The best way to do this is by providing them with hands-on materials and resources that focus on current events. This allows my students the opportunity to learn more about what is taking place in the world around them. In addition, it makes learning a lot more fun!
My Project
Reading, writing, and math are the core subjects in an elementary classroom. I would like to promote more critical thinking in my class.
We need STEM related activities to promote problem solving and critical thinking skills.
All of the STEM activities selected will promote critical thinking among my second grade students. The activities cover a wide range of skills. Students will be building, problem solving, testing strategies, and engaged while learning. I am a seasoned teacher so I know that my students need breaks throughout the day to recharge their learning battery. I believe these activities will not only recharge their battery, but will also keep them thinking. Many of the activities also promote social skills which is still needed at such a young age.
