Our second grade classroom is a room of challenge and discovery. Each child in my room contributes their own individuality to make our classroom unique.
I am excited to offer even more learning opportunities within my classroom to challenge and inspire my students to grow.
They love to move, learn and read. My students come from all different backgrounds and socioeconomic statuses. I want to help provide them with as many learning opportunities as possible while they are in my classroom.
My Project
Having a wider variety of materials available during reading and STEAM stations will help to keep my students engaged and learning. We spend our mornings becoming better, more focused and engaged readers. We do this by many different ways. Having access to building materials such as the constructor straws and magnetic tiles will enable the students to create solutions for tasks that they are given. This will enhance our STEAM station incredibly. I am also excited to have the kids make creations with the Shrinky Dink paper that they are able to keep. They will be able to use the pens, chalk, Play-Doh and stamps to create/enhance their words and drawings in unique ways.
We use hands on materials in our stations to help engage even the most reluctant learner.
Using diverse strategies and materials helps to offer diverse activities everyday in the classroom. I am looking forward to the kids using a variety of materials to write, read and engage in the learning process. I love seeing them excited about reading and writing. I can't wait to offer even more materials for them to use in the classroom!
