My Project

The materials I am requesting will allow students to have more hands-on experiences in the science classroom. Many of the materials I have requested are for our chemistry unit where students investigate chemical reactions through the phenomenon of bath bombs. Students investigate individual ingredients and then combinations of ingredients to determine what is causing the chemical reaction. Since many of the materials are consumable, I am also requesting storage containers to keep the materials fresh. This unit also addresses properties of solids, liquids, and gasses so I have requested sets of density cubes as well.

8th grade students also study light and sound waves so I have requested materials like prisms, mirrors, and lasers to support their knowledge of light waves.

Many of the other materials are for engineering products throughout units

or ways to display their scientific thinking.
