Help me give my students the best hands-on science classroom post pandemic! They have been sitting long enough staring at the computer. My students need to move about my room exploring, examining and investigating!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
We are a school located on Capital Hill and we serve kids from PreK3-5th grade. As a science teacher, I have the pleasure of teaching all students and grades. While coming back from a Pandemic, we have a lot to catch up on in the sciences. Science is not about sitting in front of a computer screen, but hands on critical thinking and observing skills. We thrive as a school to ensure all kids get the best education possible. We service about 70% free and reduce lunch scholars and 100% of our scholars make the high goals we set for them.
My Project
My students love to explore science up close and personal and with your help, they can! You can bring the life cycle of the chicken to my classroom as kids explore, maintain and then monitor chicks development inside the egg and then witness them entering this world. We will use overhead projector light source to see inside eggs as each stage of development is expected. Students will then record each and compare it to what was expected.
Each student will have a full hands-on experience of caring for them and helping them develop!
We will complete this lab/activity with a trip to a farm, where we will release them. Please help my students make special lifetime educational memories!
