My Students
My preschoolers are an amazing group of learners! It is a joy to see them enter with smiling faces. 4-5 year olds are so eager to learn, making me committed to providing the best developmentally appropriate experiences for my students.
We are located in a rural, low income, high poverty area where educational experiences are limited.
We are a Pre-K to fifth grade Title I school. One hundred percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
I work with an enthusiastic group of preschoolers who love learning, but not all of my students are provided with materials for exploration at home so having the materials and manipulatives in the classroom allows the children to explore new techniques.
My Project
Our science and discovery is lacking hands-on specimens for the children to explore. I like to try and get new things in this center to promote science with preschoolers. The sea life specimen may be a first for many of my students to get to explore.
These science specimens will allow my students to physically get their hands on and investigate each animal class.
Many of my students do not get to experience going to a museum to learn about animals, and this way I will be able to bring it into the classroom. These 5 specimen centers will make a huge difference.
