My Students

My students are excited to be in school and learn in fun ways that are memorable. They need hands on manipulatives that will enrich their learning experiences. "When learning is fun, we get things done!"

I teach kindergartners at a Title 1 school in a high poverty area where more than 60% of the students are on the free and reduced lunch program.

46% of students at my school site are English Language Learners and a considerable amount come from homeless families. Many students do not have access to science or math activities. They would benefit from math and science manipulatives and opportunities to do science projects.

My Project

My students will be able to use these science activities to learn more about the Earth, insects, and other living things. I will use it with them during small group rotations and have it available for them if they finish their work early. These hands on activities will engage them in a fun and interesting way while learning about science!

In kindergarten, the students are at a critical learning period where they need hands on tools that will engage their minds towards growth and development. These manipulatives will help them learn with memorable experiences that they can build upon when they are faced with more complex concepts throughout their academic future.
