This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work with students that have behavior challenges. So much so that they are in a special education program called STAR. They are very active and like to create great things. The regular expectations of sitting quietly for an extended length of time is sometimes not possible.

We have been brainstorming and we have decided to implement more out of their seat, hands-on activities.

They are extremely interested in creating things with their hands. First we need some office items in order to display science artwork. We are starting on our science projects and would love for them to be able to work on building a solar power car. The atom set is necessary for them to be able to create and use tactile learning in order to understand and picture atoms and molecules in their mind.
