This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My 7th and 8th grade students are curious, creative, and learn best when they're actively engaged. I want to implement interactive science notebooks next year to give them a space to process information, organize their learning and build ownership of their education. These notebooks will become their personal reference tools. Through these interactive notebooks, students will utilize foldables, diagrams, reflections and colorful activities to better understand complex and multifaceted scientific processes. To make this possible, I'm requesting basic supplies like composition notebooks, glue sticks, scissors, and colored pencils.

Interactive notebooks help students to deepen their understanding of scientific concepts through note-taking, vocabulary activities, curriculum progression, and reflection.

These interactive notebooks will help support the learning of all students and will encourage students to look back on past content and apply them to new questions and phenomena. When used consistently, students will build stronger retention, better organizational skills, and pride in their own academic journey. Your support will help create a classroom environment where students are actively thinking, creating and establishing connections with science curriculum.
