Hands on Science Experiments

Help me give my students hands-on science resources in order to allow students to actively engage with scientific concepts through experiments and activities, leading to a deeper understanding, better retention of information, and increased engagement.

My Project

Learning by doing" makes science more tangible and relatable to real-world applications. By manipulating materials and observing results firsthand, students can grasp abstract scientific concepts more effectively.

Active participation in experiments sparks curiosity and excitement, making learning more enjoyable.

Designing experiments, analyzing data, and drawing conclusions require students to think critically and problem-solve. Hands-on activities can be designed to mimic real-world situations, showing how science applies in everyday life. Many hands-on activities encourage students to work together, fostering communication and collaboration skills. Active learning through hands-on experiences leads to better long-term memory of scientific concepts.

The Lakeshore meet the standards hands-on kit for Grade 5 will help our students to be able to perform hands on learning activities which correspond with our earth, life and physical Science standard. The water cycle projects will give students the experience of the way the water cycle work and be able to manipulate the different components. The weather kit will support our weather unit where students get to make weather instruments and learn about the weather. The trophies and Medals will be awarded to students for projects placed on display and awarded during our awards assembly since it's the first year we have designated hands on science as part of our schedule. Students will also be able to make slime as a fun part of our science program. The human body assembly kit is also part of our science standard involving the digestive and circulatory system.
