My Project
Bringing a hand boiler, compost container, and inflatable raceway into my classroom would make a big difference for my students—and honestly, for me too. My kindergarteners will use the raceway to design a way to keep a message safe as it floats, which gets them thinking creatively and testing ideas without even realizing they’re learning. The compost container will be used by multiple grades, especially 5th, to show how food waste breaks down and how energy moves through an ecosystem. It’s a great way to connect science to real life. The hand boiler will help my 4th graders actually see energy transfer from their own hands, which is way more exciting than a diagram in a book. These tools will make our already vibrant classroom experiences even better.
