As a teacher in a low income area. I try to teach my students the hands on aspects of learning. My students are learning to work with each other sharing their ideas and experiences to be successful. I don't want them to just use computers to learn but to use each other to solve problems or top interact with one another. I want them to be kids that can work together as a team. I encourage the old students to help the younger students. I enjoy hearing students say I learned that from my mom or dad which is rare being that many parents work all day and may not be able to share happy moments with their children.
My Project
These board games will help my students interact with one another. The Science aspects of them will keep their minds thinking Science. The quick thinking of the games will help them with motor skills and cognitive skills that are essential for growing and maturing into well rounded students. I want to keep my students from always going for a computer and not hands on touching things. The different games will keep them occupied as well as help them to work together as teams with their social skills. The games are also beneficial for they will need to figure out how to play them and to use their resources to figure that out.
