Help me give my students a globe, maps, and flashlights to use during science and social studies lessons!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Braley's classroom raised $206

My Students
My students attend school in Los Angeles, California. We serve a variety of students in grades TK-5th. We are a Title 1 school, which means many students at our school qualify for free or reduced lunch. My students are from many diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and are always eager to learn!
We are environmental activists!
Alongside learning to read and write, we learn about the world around us and how we can preserve the beauty of our environment on a daily basis. We love to work together and engage in many hands on activities that make learning come to life every day in our classroom. Most of all, we believe in ourselves!
My Project
Students learn best when they can get their hands on materials! As we teach Next Generation Science Standards, students should be experimenting, building, exploring, and creating as they learn all about science and social studies. Flashlights will help us as we learn about light and sound during our physical science unit. Both the globe and the flashlights can be used to experiment with how and why the sun shines on the Earth during our Earth science unit. A globe and maps are so important to use during all lessons, especially social studies, as we prepare our students to be more globally aware of the world we live in. We also need nameplate sleeves for our desks, because in the past as we do engaging, hands-on science experiments, we have ruined our name plates with liquids and other science materials. This will protect our name plates which are tools the students often reference!
