Hands-On Science and Discovery In An Amazing Pre-K Class!

it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My pre-k, title one school classroom is full of inquisitive minds, who want to explore their immediate environment with hands-on real-life learning experiences and activities. As their classroom teacher, it is my job to provide them with those opportunities and experiences that will enhance their developing brains to become “more inquisitive and creative”. Due to the car-seat restrictions for children under 5 on school buses; my amazing young learners in an inner-city Title one pre-k class here in the Bronx, are unable to take field trips to the museums, zoo, aquarium or to the farm to explore nature.
Help me give my students the ability to experience life science by supplying materials to transform my science center into a place filled with animals, manipulatives, lights and plants.
The materials I am requesting such as the Hydroponics Growing System, live plants, Tabletop Fountain, Reptile habitat decorations, animal feeder, worm farm, preserved insect specimen collection, geographic rocks, fossils kit and Heating Pad for animal habitats will aid my students to enhance their expressive language, cognitive development, self-help and peer interaction skills. In addition, I would like to grow vegetables with our students to cook with and use while we participate in our daily family style dining portion of the school day; where all 18 students, my class para and I eat and share a meal together. These requested materials will ensure hands-on learning like never before in a pre-k classroom setting.
