This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work at a STEM magnet middle school in Indiana. This means that my students chose to come to our school to learn more about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.

My seventh and eighth graders come from all around the city to form a community where we focus on our core values of rigor, community, relationships, and drive.

My students come from diverse cultures and experiences, and some overcome significant obstacles to succeed at our school. In their two short years with us, they come in as young pre-teens and develop into teenagers prepared to flourish in high school!

My Project

I am requesting some science kits to use for some hands-on activities for my students. I'm also asking for two sets of windowsill herb garden kits so that my students can practice growing plants in our classroom. Lastly, I'm requesting various types of engaging brain break toys like puzzles, memory games, and card games for our students to use to be able to take a break between our rigorous lessons. Thank you for considering a donation towards this special group of students! They do hard work in their self-contained setting and are a valuable asset to our building!
