Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My students are fun-loving first-graders who love learning and being in school. They are avid readers who enjoy reading with their friends. These well-behaved students are very excited about learning and are always eager to help each other. My students are happy, kind, caring, and energetic.Some of my students come from low-income families with various cultural backgrounds and languages. The classroom is a place where they can have fun while learning simultaneously. They are funny, intelligent, and active.

As a teacher, I encounter students with different reading levels and learning styles, and they may face various challenges when learning.

We would use these materials during Reading and Phonics workshops. Elkonin boxes are useful for blending words, teaching digraphs, and other elements of phonemic awareness. The magnetic letters will help students build and read words that may be challenging for them. These activities will develop and reinforce phonemic awareness. These materials will also benefit students with learning disabilities. I believe hands-on materials are a great pathway to learning.

Please help me meet the needs of all my students with fun-filled activities during our Phonics workshop.
