My Project

Our classroom is filled with students who are eager to read, but who need extra support to get there. This project will provide hands-on reading manipulatives that make learning to read interactive, engaging, and accessible for all learners.

By using tactile, movable materials like letter tiles, word-building puzzles, and Elkonin boxes, my students will be able to build and decode words with confidence.

These tools support a multisensory approach to reading, which is especially effective for students with disabilities, dyslexia, and other language-based learning differences.

I teach a group of incredible students with diverse learning needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language impairments, and specific learning disabilities. Many of my students are reading below grade level and require individualized, explicit instruction using hands-on tools.

These students work hard every single day, but reading doesn’t come easily to them. They thrive when lessons are visual, tactile, and movement-based—and that's exactly what these reading manipulatives will provide. Reading manipulatives allow students to physically touch, move, and explore sounds and letters, making abstract concepts concrete.

What Your Donation Will Provide:

Magnetic letter tiles and boards for phonics word building

Tactile letters and sandpaper letters for multisensory learning

Elkonin sound boxes and color-coded chips for phoneme segmentation

CVC and sight word puzzles to support early decoding

Interactive fluency strips and sentence building games

Durable storage bins and trays to keep materials organized and accessible

Your donation will directly support students who need it most. With these reading tools, my students will gain the confidence and skills they need to become successful, independent readers. More importantly, they will experience the joy of reading in a way that feels doable and fun.
