My Project

As a school and district, we are still trying to recover from COVID. The students I serve are below grade level, therefore trying to access and be successful with Tier 1 instruction is extremely difficult. Therefore, the first steps we must do is decrease their deficiencies, specifically in the area of phonics.

Not all students can grasp phonics skills and prefixes/suffixes with ease.

The materials purchased would be able to benefit students in a small group setting and each student would be able to hear the word, physically manipulate the letters, touch the letters and be able to sound it out before orthographically mapping the word. This is extremely important for our struggling readers at all levels.

In addition, the suffixes and prefixes kits would be utilized in the same way and would also be set up in a way to reinforce some of the online activities that they currently complete within the iReady program.
