Hands-On Music Supplies for Music on a Cart

My Students

My students are passionate, smart, and delight in the opportunity to express their creativity through music. They love to explore through play and music making. With your support I hope to get quality supplies for my deserving students!

Though my students may face challenges, these passionate kids never let any challenge stand in their way!

Making music encourages them to think outside the box and helps them develop their creative mindset. Whether these amazing kids become musicians, or doctors, or teachers, or entrepreneurs - the skills they learn in my classroom will help them in every path. Music makes a difference! My Project

I'm an itinerant music teacher, which means that I'm often traveling on a cart to teach in homeroom classrooms. Teaching from a cart can be tricky, and the right resources go a long way to bringing a wonderful music education to students wherever they are. Having materials that the students can use independently, helps give my students a better understanding of vital musical concepts.

These hands-on materials will open up an entire musical world for my kids and help us rock out music on a cart!

The first material I'm requesting is bingo chips, which turn into "note chips" in my classroom! My younger students use them to count out the number of beats, and my upper grades place them on a laminated staff to help with note name identification. Popsicle sticks enable my kids to lay out their own rhythm and practice composition and listening skills. Pencil bags allow for these to be distributed and transported easily on our musical cart adventure! Wood blocks add an entirely new tone to our instrument library, and my students love playing them. Lastly, a rabbit puppet (to be named Peter!) brings songs and concepts to life and adds a wonderful element of magic to our lessons. All of these put manipulatives into my kids' hands and completely transforms their understanding of abstract concepts.
