This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My high school students bound into the classroom full of curiosity and craving to learn. Our population of 1400 students is diverse with minority groups comprising 96% of our school. Though our school is underfunded and has its challenges, my students have expressed a lot of gratitude for what they are learning in my classes. I am motivated to giving them the best possible education so that their learning is memorable and joyful.
The gratitude of my students makes me want to work harder to give them the best education possible.
In order to prepare them for the age they live in, I do my best to expose them to current practices in our modern world. To do this, I need your help to provide materials for hands-on biology and marine science experiments.
My Project
My students learn best by doing and experimenting within my classroom. We need graduated cylinders to accurately measure during labs, straws for a variety of upcoming labs like determining the presence of CO2 using indicators, and specimens to make comparisons between species.
The circulation pumps, brine shrimp eggs, and triple head grow light will be used for student run aquaponic experiments.
The aquatic turtle food, crested gecko food, uvb and heat lamps will be used to keep our classroom pets happy and healthy. The glue sticks, tape, and pencils are needed supplies to help us finish the year. The stamps will help me better manage their work and motivate students to complete work.
