Hands-on Math

Help me give my students math tools that will help them practice their skills by using tangible manipulatives and resources to help them gain a more concrete understanding of math concepts.

My Project

Understanding place value and increasing number sense is a foundational skill that will help support students' understanding of mathematical concepts. Our district as a whole does not have a high proficiency rate when it comes to math, these resources will allow students to have the tools they need to practice place value by using manipulatives and learning to model the concepts on the dry-erase boards. The math sets help provide additional choices for small group activities to help reinforce second-grade standards. Our classroom is also comprised of English Language Learners who need visuals a giant magnetic board and manipulatives to help make concepts more concrete and tangible.
