Hands on Math: Putting Concepts In Student's Hands

My students need hands-on geometry manipulatives, like a set of MIRA Math Geometry Tools, folding shapes, and Geometry Bingo, in order to grasp the ideas and concepts of three dimensional shapes.

My Students

Shapes are everywhere and we are looking for them! My math students are looking for ways to identify and appreciate geometric shapes but are lacking hands-on shapes to explore. These items would bring shapes into the classroom for them.

I have a wonderful group of students that are very eager to learn.

They are inquisitive and excited about all math concepts, especially geometry. Many of my students do not have English as a first language and hands on geometric shapes are an excellent way for them to understand these concepts. My students would appreciate these tools as a way to "shape" their futures!

My Project

Students who are able to see and understand shapes in our world often develop interests in architecture, construction, design, and other exciting careers. Your donation to this project would allow my students to touch the three dimensional shapes they have only been able to see in their math books.

This project is important because a strong math background is an important life skill.

My students will be able to take their hands-on math experiences with them to high school, college, and throughout their lives. Thank you for your generous donation!
