My Students
Our school is a special one. Diversity would be the one word to describe what I love the most about it. Our diversity comes from our cultures, race, languages, backgrounds, socio-economic levels, and the community around us. What some would say so much diversity would separate us, it is the one thing that unites us all. Staff, students and families value the differences we have and celebrates those differences.
Our community is a close knit one that works together for the common good of our kids.
As we work together to start the school year in a distance learning model, our thoughts are first and foremost on the students. I am looking forward to inviting others into this special community to support these amazing kids.
My Project
Math is hard enough for so many students. Distance learning can be even more of an obstacle for those already struggling. Practicing on a computer is not as effective as using math tools alongside the teacher.
I would like to provide my students with their own bin of math supplies that will allow them to learn and practice new skills along with me even from afar.
This hands on experience with immediate feedback will help minimize some of the anxiety students may feel as they try to learn from home.
More than half of students from low‑income households
