Hands-On Math: Manipulatives to Build Strong Foundations

My Project

What I love most about my first graders is their excitement for learning and their pride when they master something new. They are curious, energetic, and learn best through hands-on activities that make abstract ideas come to life. The resources I’m requesting—magnetic money, greater than/less than manipulatives, a book on comparing numbers, and 10-frame pop-its—will help my students build strong foundational math skills. These tools will make it easier for them to understand crucial first-grade concepts like counting money, comparing numbers, and developing number sense. With your support, my students will be able to learn in fun, engaging ways that build confidence and a genuine love of math.
