My Students

Our students are ready and willing to take on the challenges of a 21st-century education. They have many diverse styles of learning and need exposure to 21st-century learning resources. They need to collaborate with their peers and lead by example.

Our school is 95% African-American, 2% Haitian-American, 2% Hispanic, and 1% Caucasian with 97% of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch.

Our school is located in the inner city of Miami, Florida. Although our students are faced with many socio-economic challenges, they seek a high-quality education to become productive citizens.

My Project

We need additional resources for our math learning stations. Our math classrooms include a differentiated instruction block during which students select assignments across various domains. These stations are rotational in nature and students work on a particular domain at each stop.

These math manipulatives will provide critical resources to build students' conceptual knowledge.

The dry erase markers and boards will help teachers quickly check for understanding of the daily learning targets. Lastly, the lead and colored pencils are needed for the students to complete their journaling during our hands-on experiments.
