My Students

My students are excited to come to school each day. They have so much energy and a strong desire to learn and grow. I love making learning fun for them through hands-on learning activities. My students are six and seven and they are learning how to read, write, add, and subtract. Many of my students have come into first grade well below grade level. They have a strong desire to learn.

My students are our future.

They have a wide range of academic, social, and emotional needs. I want to ensure that they become productive citizens someday. I want to provide them with appropriate materials to help them become readers, writers, and mathematicians.

My Project

My first graders need hands on materials for learning at home and school! My firsties need engaging tools to make learning math fun!

Rekenreks and number paths are math tools that will help my students learn how to add, subtract, count, compose, and decompose numbers.

With the rekenreks and number paths I will be able to model the math skill we are working on so that the students can follow along using their own tool. I know these tools will provide hands-on learning as my first graders develop their math skills!
