Help me give my students magnetic math manipulatives, multiplication workbooks, and a double-sided magnetic whiteboard with a stand to differentiate math instruction.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students in 4th grade are excited about math and most of them can do 4th grade math. Some students still have to rely on addition when multiplying 2 numbers. They still need to learn some of the 2nd and 3rd grade math to successfully do our 4th grade standards.
They could benefit from having a math center with hands-on resources to be able to have a better understanding of how to multiply 2 or more numbers.
By having a double-sided whiteboard in the classroom with math manipulatives to use during math instruction, it will help students with the right tools to feel and be successful during our math lessons. It will provide them with a space in the classroom with magnetic manipulatives like ones, tens and hundreds magnetic manipulatives to solve a multiplication problem before writing it down on their math workbook. By being double sided, it will allow at least two students at the same time. It will also allow me to do small group instruction for students seeking a challenge math problem. The workbook will be use in the classroom to help me differentiate math instruction during our rotations. Thank you for making our math learning more engaging and hands-on.
